We then visited Badlands National Park. We drove a 45 mile "scenic byway" but it was more than SCENIC, it was AMAZING!! This is a land formed by millenia of inland oceans, volcanic ash deposits, and water erosion. It consists of multi-colored, tortuously ravaged, wonderously carved cliffs, ravines, and spires. Badlands also has yielded amazing fossils, and paleontologists flock here every summer to mine out more. The visitors' center is incredibly informative, and we actually watched as people delicately worked with fossils.

Finally, we ended up back in Wall, and sunbathing around the pool. Yes, retired life is tough!!
I couldn't end today without showing you the chickens...
Thank you guys for posting about your excellent adventures. I'm really enjoying living vicariously through your words and photos. Thanks, too, for the chicken pictures. :) Continue to be safe and have fun!
