Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

We are definitely in the SOUTH! South Carolina is criss-crossed with, trees draped with Spanish moss, beautiful swamps posted with alligator warnings, and beaches with sugar white sand.  It finally feels like we have entered the "Southern" south.

We stayed in a beautiful state park south of Myrtle Beach yesterday right on the beach, in the midst of a 9,000 acre migrating birds wetlands. We had wonderful hiking trails through beach areas and along wooden walkways over the protected wetlands.

Looking for 'gators that the signs said were ever present here. Sadly, we didn't see even one.
Yesterday we continued our migration south, and are staying outside of Charleston for a few days.
Stay tuned.
