We changed campgrounds on Saturday, because we were staying at a bad place. The second campground is great. Both of us have commented that the whole RV-ing thing would be easier if we didn't have to deal with a few of the parks, and some of the people in them. But most of them have been good.
On Saturday, we drove into Buffalo. We simply HAD to attend the 11th Annual Buffalo Wings Festival in Buffalo, NY. To not go would be like going to Maine and not having lobster. But it definitely wasn't all THAT.
Buffalo itself was a pretty cool older port city. Not much in the way of modern architecture. The Erie Canal ends at Buffalo. President McKinley was assassinated here. And, Buffalo wings were invented. How much more history can one city manage???
Buffalo City Hall, quite stunning actually. |
San Diego has its chicken. Buffalo has its...well, also a chicken. |
The guy third from the right isn't actually Jack. But after so many greasy wings, that's how he felt! |
Exquisite restoration of a 300 year old fort. |
There were at least 100 people, all in period costumes, doing re-enactments and providing education.
